Used BMW Alpina B8 Engine

Shopping for a Used BMW Alpina B8 Engine? We stock tested used engines pulled from running BMW Alpina B8 vehicles across 1990-1994, built with the Alpina-tuned M60B40 4.6L V8. Sourcing a used engine like this instead of a remanufactured or dealer-new unit keeps your repair bill down without swapping in an unproven part.

Engine code and specs
The BMW Alpina B8 (1990-1994) uses the Alpina-tuned M60B40 4.6L V8. Confirm the exact engine code stamped on your original unit against your VIN before ordering, since prior repairs or engine swaps can occasionally change what’s actually under the hood.

Where these engines come from
Every unit in our inventory is sourced from a low-mileage, running donor vehicle — never a salvage engine with unknown internal damage. Units average around 75,000 miles and go through compression and leak testing before they’re listed for sale. We back every order with a warranty of up to 90 days.

Before installing any used engine, it’s worth checking whether your BMW Alpina B8 has any open safety recalls that could affect the repair — you can look this up directly through NHTSA’s official recalls lookup tool.

Not sure which engine fits your BMW Alpina B8? Send us your VIN and our team will confirm the exact match before you order.
