At Reliable Used Part, we are committed to providing quality-tested used engines, transmissions, and automotive parts. Because our products are used automotive components, returns and warranty claims are subject to the terms below.
By purchasing from Reliable Used Part, you acknowledge and agree to the following Refund, Return & Warranty Policy.
1. Return Policy
Eligible products may be returned within 90 days of delivery, subject to the conditions of this policy.
Before returning any engine, transmission, or other automotive part, you must contact Reliable Used Part and receive return authorization and instructions.
Do not send any product back without contacting us first.
Unauthorized returns may not be accepted or processed.
Returned products must be in substantially the same condition as when delivered, except where the return is being made because the product arrived damaged or has a qualifying defect covered by the applicable warranty.
2. Used Engine & Transmission Returns
Because engines and transmissions are used automotive parts, every return is subject to inspection.
A return may be approved when:
- The wrong part was supplied by Reliable Used Part.
- The part materially differs from the product described or ordered.
- The part arrives damaged.
- The part has a qualifying defect covered by the applicable warranty.
- Reliable Used Part has otherwise authorized the return.
Customers should contact us as soon as possible after receiving an order if there is any concern regarding the condition, compatibility, or functionality of the part.
3. 90-Day Warranty
Eligible used engines, transmissions, and other qualifying products may be covered by a limited warranty of up to 90 days from the date of delivery.
The exact warranty coverage may depend on the product purchased and the terms provided with the order.
The warranty is intended to cover qualifying defects or failures of the supplied part when the part has been properly installed and used under normal operating conditions.
Warranty Requirements
To remain eligible for warranty coverage:
- The part must be installed correctly and in the appropriate vehicle/application.
- Installation should be performed by a qualified automotive professional.
- Required fluids, filters, seals, gaskets, and other applicable service items should be replaced or serviced as appropriate.
- The vehicle and part must be properly maintained.
- The part must not be modified, disassembled, abused, or misused.
- Any suspected warranty issue must be reported to Reliable Used Part before additional repairs or modifications are performed.
Failure to follow appropriate installation, maintenance, or warranty procedures may result in denial of the warranty claim.
4. Warranty Exclusions
Unless specifically stated otherwise in writing, the warranty does not cover failures or damage resulting from:
- Improper installation.
- Incorrect installation or vehicle application.
- Abuse or misuse.
- Racing or competition use.
- Overheating.
- Lack of proper lubrication or fluids.
- Incorrect or contaminated fluids.
- Failure to properly maintain the vehicle or part.
- Unauthorized modifications or alterations.
- Improper repairs.
- Damage caused by external components not supplied with the part.
- Normal wear and tear.
- Damage occurring after installation that is unrelated to a defect in the supplied part.
- Labor or installation costs unless specifically agreed to in writing.
- Towing expenses.
- Rental vehicle expenses.
- Loss of use or other consequential expenses.
5. Engine Warranty & Installation
Used engines may be sold as complete engines, long blocks, or other configurations depending on the product listing.
Unless specifically stated in the product description or invoice, certain external components may need to be transferred from the customer’s original engine.
These components may include:
- Alternators
- Starters
- Intake components
- Exhaust components
- Sensors
- Wiring
- Fuel-system components
- A/C components
- Power-steering components
- Engine mounts
- Other external accessories
Customers are responsible for verifying the configuration and included components before installation.
6. Transmission Warranty & Installation
Used transmissions must be installed in the correct vehicle and application.
Depending on the vehicle and transmission, appropriate installation and service may include:
- Replacing transmission fluid.
- Replacing the transmission filter.
- Replacing applicable seals and gaskets.
- Flushing or servicing cooler lines.
- Inspecting related components.
- Completing any manufacturer-recommended relearn or programming procedures.
Failure to properly service or install a transmission may affect warranty eligibility.
7. Vehicle & Part Compatibility
Customers are responsible for providing accurate vehicle information when requesting or purchasing a part.
This may include:
- Year
- Make
- Model
- Engine size
- Transmission type
- Drivetrain
- VIN
- Engine code
- Transmission code
- Other applicable vehicle specifications
If you are unsure whether a part will fit your vehicle, please contact our parts team before purchasing.
We will assist with compatibility information available to us, but the customer remains responsible for confirming that the part is appropriate for the intended application.
8. Inspection of Returned Products
All returned engines, transmissions, and other automotive parts are subject to inspection.
After receiving the returned product, Reliable Used Part will determine whether the product qualifies for a refund, replacement, exchange, or warranty resolution.
A claim may be denied if inspection determines that the issue resulted from:
- Improper installation.
- Misuse or abuse.
- Incorrect application.
- Unauthorized modifications.
- Improper maintenance.
- Disassembly or alteration.
- Damage occurring after delivery.
- Any other condition outside the applicable warranty coverage.
9. Damaged Shipments
If your product arrives damaged, contact Reliable Used Part as soon as possible.
We may request photographs or other documentation, including:
- Photos of the product.
- Photos of the damage.
- Photos of the shipping container.
- Photos of the shipping label.
- Other information necessary to investigate the shipment.
Please retain the original packaging and shipping materials until the matter has been resolved.
10. Refunds
If a return is approved and the product qualifies for a refund, the applicable refund will be issued to the original payment method.
The amount of the refund may depend on:
- The reason for the return.
- The condition of the returned product.
- Inspection results.
- Applicable shipping costs.
- Any applicable charges disclosed at the time of purchase.
Once a refund has been approved, your bank or payment provider may require additional processing time before the funds appear in your account.
11. Return Shipping
If a return is approved because of customer preference, incorrect vehicle information supplied by the customer, or another reason not caused by Reliable Used Part, the customer may be responsible for the return shipping costs.
Shipping costs are generally non-refundable unless otherwise agreed or required under applicable law.
For large or heavy products such as engines and transmissions, customers should use an appropriate trackable freight or shipping service.
Reliable Used Part is not responsible for products lost during unauthorized or improperly documented return shipments.
12. Wrong or Incorrectly Ordered Parts
If you believe you received the wrong engine, transmission, or other part, contact us before installing or modifying the product.
Please provide your:
- Order information
- Vehicle information
- VIN, when applicable
- Photos of the received part
- Any relevant identification or part numbers
We will review the information and provide further instructions.
13. Exchanges & Replacement Parts
If an eligible product is determined to have a qualifying defect or issue, Reliable Used Part may, at its discretion and subject to inventory availability:
- Provide a replacement part;
- Provide an approved refund; or
- Provide another appropriate warranty resolution.
Replacement parts are subject to available inventory.
14. Order Cancellations
If you need to cancel an order, contact us as soon as possible.
Once an order has been processed, prepared for shipment, or shipped, cancellation may no longer be possible. In such cases, the order may be subject to the applicable return and shipping provisions of this policy.
15. Sale & Promotional Items
Products offered through sales or promotional offers may have specific terms and conditions.
Any special return or warranty conditions applicable to a promotional product will be provided with the applicable offer, product listing, invoice, or order documentation.
16. No Unauthorized Returns
Do not ship an engine, transmission, or other automotive part back to Reliable Used Part without first contacting us.
You must receive return instructions before sending a product back.
This helps us properly identify the order, arrange the appropriate return method, and process the claim efficiently.

17. Important Warranty Notice
The 90-day warranty applies to eligible products and is subject to the applicable warranty terms and conditions.
The warranty does not automatically cover installation labor, towing, rental vehicles, transportation, loss of use, or other consequential expenses unless specifically agreed to in writing.
If you experience a problem with an engine, transmission, or other covered part, contact Reliable Used Part before removing, repairing, disassembling, or replacing the part so that we can review the issue and provide the appropriate warranty instructions.
